Rehberger treats the white surface of the espresso cup designed by Matteo Thun as a blank canvas, decorating it with optical effects and patterns.
The cup and matching saucer create a fascinating visual impact that stimulates the observer to make sense of the patterns. The idea is beautifully absorbed into the interior of the bar and restaurant in the new exhibition building, where the cup is almost camouflaged, a hidden element of an unusual and captivating game, yet part of a unique, complete overall design.
